The 2016-2017 season has closed, and what a season it was! Below you’ll find some notes about what happened in the Geneva Theatre Guild (but visit group pages to see more about the shows from Geneva Theatre Guild Youth Theatre and the Nancy Curvin Playground Players).
We won’t be gone long! Keep your eyes and ears open for news about what’s coming next in our 40th season.
Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And then some!)
Thank you everyone for making Every Christmas Story Ever Told so enjoyable! Thanks to theatre fans who attended our Community Giving Matinee, we were able to donate $100 to the Geneva Community Center
Thanks to you all for an amazing Playwrights/Playreadings! Unfortunately, none of our playwrights (Robin Pond, Len Cuthbert, and Kat Meads) could join us this year, but “Roses for the Sweetheart,” “Posthumous Friends,” “Matched,” and “Missing” all proved to be food for thought, and even a little laughter.
Miracle on South Division Street
Unfortunately, we were unable to share “Miracle on South Division Street” with you this year. We were sad but pushed ahead to have a great, spectacular Young Frankenstein.
Nancy Curvin Playground Players presents… Country-Ella!
Directed by Luis Figueroa and Nicolette Nault, “Country-Ella”, is the story of Cinderella with a bit of a country twist. The troupe traveled all around the Geneva and Finger Lakes area to bring this wonderful re-telling of the classic story to kids and adults everywhere.
The show was a fantastic success and we hope to see even more come out for next year!
The Summer Musical was “Young Frankenstein”
Directed by Steve Duprey, “Young Frankenstein” was be presented at the Smith Opera House and a smashing success! (Several fans even wrote to us to tell us that they enjoyed the show.)
We had profound support from so many individuals and businesses in our community. We couldn’t have done it without you!
